The Food Made Good Standard officially lands in Singapore!
THE SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION HAS OFFICIALLY BROUGHT ITS SUSTAINABILITY ACCREDITATION FOR THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR, THE FOOD MADE GOOD STANDARD, TO SINGAPORE.
Singapore, 9th September 2024: Working in alignment with the Restaurant Association of Singapore and the Singapore F&B Sustainability Council, The Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) is thrilled to announce that the Food Made Good Standard – the only global sustainability accreditation tailored for the hospitality sector – has officially arrived in Singapore.
The Singapore launch of the Food Made Good Standard was held in the prestigious Mandala Club on Monday of this week and included an insightful panel discussion moderated by The SRA’s Managing Director, Juliane Caillouette Noble, on the topic ‘Small Changes, Big Impact: Driving Sustainability Through Hospitality’.
SINGAPORE'S FIRST FOOD MADE GOOD BUSINESSES
During the event, The SRA proudly announced a strategic partnership with the Restaurant Association of Singapore and Singapore’s F&B Sustainability Council, through which members of both organisations can avail of a tailored members-only offer when doing the Food Made Good Standard. Additionally, the Food Made Good Standard is also available widely to every single F&B businesses across Singapore, who may wish to further their understanding of sustainable operations in the hospitality sector.
The SRA is delighted to announce its founding members in Singapore as Native bar and Mandala Club. These businesses – representing the wide scope and variety within Singapore’s F&B scene – are all currently in the process of completing their Food Made Good Standard evaluations.
Led by Vijay Mudaliar, Native bar is a stand-out feature of Singapore’s bar scene, lighting the way towards a better future for the industry. The SRA has been working in collaboration with Mudaliar since 2023 with Native and Mudaliar’s other F&B concept Analogue Initiative, spreading awareness of both the Food Made Good Standard and the incredible sustainability work demonstrated by his businesses. In fact, in 2023 – impressed by careful sourcing, a tangible commitment to community and outstanding creativity when it comes to reducing waste – the team of sustainability consultants at The SRA selected Analogue Initiative as the winner of the Sustainable Bar Award at Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
Mandala Club is well recognised for hosting discussions on sustainability, educating the sector and facilitating further dialogue and development – making it the ideal venue to host The SRA’s official Singapore launch! With a variety of spaces ranging from the Canvas café and deli to Popi’s dining room, a hidden Tasting Room and BEES (a new culinary concept from Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa), Mandala Club encompasses multiple different kitchens and is diligently completing the Standard for the entire property.
