6 Reasons to be Excited About Our Fancy New Website
Last week, we were thrilled to announce the launch of this brand new website.
With the simultaneous launch of a new and improved version of the Food Made Good Standard, the team at The Sustainable Restaurant Association is ready to step up our game and support even more restaurants in taking real action when it comes to sustainability.
Here are just a few of the reasons why we love our revamped website, and we think you will too.
1. The FMG Standard goes global
The Food Made Good Standard was first launched in 2010 with the aim of helping hospitality businesses across the UK improve their sustainability. The Standard – a comprehensive set of industry-specific criteria – is designed to assess behaviour, measure action and celebrate progress, and has helped thousands of restaurants introduce sustainable processes and systems. Over the years, we’ve outgrown our original goal as our reach has expanded far beyond the bounds of the UK.
With this in mind, we’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to make the FMG Standard a truly global offering, and we’re incredibly proud to present it through this website. Now, F&B businesses anywhere in the world can sign up, take the Standard and embrace a more sustainable future through smart, strategic and measurable action.
2. Keeping you in the loop
We’re busy bees here at The SRA. At our core, we’re here to support businesses through The Food Made Good Standard and give both certification and recognition to those who take the time to carry out this invaluable work. Meanwhile, we’re also actively sharing our expertise through consultancy projects, strategic partnerships, speaking engagements and networking sessions. There’s just one problem: we’ve been so busy doing the work that we haven’t made any time to talk about it!
With this new site, we’re determined to get better at bringing you updates about the positive change we’re seeing across the global hospitality network. We’ll be sharing the latest knowledge and insights we gather along the way, as well as good news stories of restaurants who have embraced sustainability and reaped the benefits.
3. Showcasing our global partners
One aspect of our business that makes us particularly proud is the mutually beneficial partnerships we’ve built with like-minded companies and organisations across the world. Having partners on the ground in places like Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, Italy, the UAE and Spain lets us bring our message to a bigger audience, boosting our impact and bringing the global hospitality sector one step closer to a sustainable future. As part of our website update, we’ve included more information about these highly-valued relationships here.
4. Finding a sustainable design team
As a team, we’re pretty obsessed with sustainability and reducing our environmental impact, so it was important to us that we chose the right company to develop our website. We are very proud to have worked with Yoyo, a B Corp certified digital design agency. With an ethical supply chain, transparent business practices and a legally binding commitment to their community and the environment – all in addition to their fantastic customer service and design work – it was obvious from the beginning that Yoyo was the right choice for us. It’s been a pleasure to work with them on bringing our vision for this website to life.
5. It’s pretty!
Let’s be honest – this website looks fantastic! Our old site served us well but, when you’re in the business as long as we are, you need a makeover from time to time. We love the new, fresh look and feel of this site, and we hope you do, too.
6. our Food Made Good Directory
Our Food Made Good Directory makes it easy for you to find and contact businesses who have completed the FMG Standard as well as our partners and projects, creating a global network of sustainable food and hospitality organisations and making it easier than ever to work together towards a sustainable future.
