ABOUT THE SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION
Since 2010, The Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) has set the Standard for sustainable food and drink businesses, connecting businesses across the globe to accelerate change toward a hospitality sector that is socially progressive and environmentally restorative.
We do this through the world’s leading sustainability assessment tailored for the sector, the Food Made Good Standard, as well as through consultancy work, training, resource development and strategic partnerships. The Food Made Good Standard is awarded to restaurants and other F&B businesses around the world that meet a set of rigorous, measurable criteria across three main focus areas: Sourcing, Society and Environment. Taking a big-picture, holistic view of what sustainability should mean in modern hospitality, Food Made Good aims to encourage, support and recognise sustainability practices across the F&B industry worldwide.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a dynamic, proactive intern to support with the launch of the 2026 edition of the Food Made Good Standard.
The Sustainability Research Intern will work with the Head of Global Certification during the final stages of preparation ahead of the September 2026 launch of the new Food Made Good Standard.
The role is hands-on and varied: getting content into the new digital platform, checking everything works as it should, creating supporting materials — including user guides, glossaries and training resources — and ensuring that they are ready for launch. The intern will also help prepare content for translation and support the Head of Global Certification in keeping expert consultees informed on how their input shaped the final Standard.
This is a valuable opportunity to see how a sustainability standard comes together during an important moment for the organisation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Creating and updating supporting documents (glossaries, help texts, user guides, training materials)
- Researching and fact checking content
- Inputting content into the new digital platform
- Preparing and overseeing content for translation
- Quality assurance checks across the platform and content
- Liaising with expert consultees to update them on how their input was used
- Supporting the Comms team with launch-related content creation
EXPERIENCE AND KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable raising questions when requirements are unclear
- Thorough research skills and fact checking
- Keen attention to detail
- Highly organised, even when working independently
- Good organisational skills, even when working independently
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of sustainability trends and issues, particularly regarding food systems and hospitality
- Passion for tackling social and environmental issues related to food and hospitality
