FOOD MADE GOOD IN SINGAPORE
Bringing Food Made Good To SINGAPORE
Working in alignment with the Restaurant Association of Singapore and the Singapore F&B Sustainability Council, The Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) is thrilled to announce that the Food Made Good Standard – the only global sustainability accreditation tailored for the hospitality sector – has officially arrived in Singapore.
Through our strategic partnership with the Restaurant Association of Singapore and Singapore’s F&B Sustainability Council, members of both organisations can avail of a tailored members-only offer when doing the Food Made Good Standard.
ABOUT RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE
As the pioneer and largest F&B Association in Singapore, Restaurant Association of Singapore has more than 500 members, representing close to 800 brands that operate more than 5,000 outlets. Since its establishment in 1980, RAS has acted as a collective voice for the F&B industry and strives to advance the industry through various platforms such as bridging closer working relationships between businesses and government agencies, networking events for members, recognition and awards platforms and administering programmes to drive business success.
“This collaboration offers substantial benefits for our RAS members who are eager to embrace sustainable practices. By working together, I believe we can make a significant impact in advancing sustainable practices within the F&B industry,” said Andrew Ing, COO of OUE Restaurants and Management Committee Member of Restaurant Association of Singapore.
ABOUT SINGAPORE'S F&B SUSTAINABILITY COUNCIL
The F&B Sustainability Council was formed in early 2020 to tackle environmental issues in the industry. Recognising that making an impact is only possible if businesses work together, the council brings together allies from across Singapore’s F&B industry from chefs to CEOs, sommeliers to suppliers, restaurateurs to hoteliers. The first organisation of its kind in Singapore, the council is geared towards knowledge-sharing and collective action in finding solutions to improve sustainability in the hospitality sector.
Oliver Truesdale-Jutras, founding member and current Chairman of Singapore's F&B Sustainability Council, said, “The Sustainability Council is happy to be partnering with the most thorough and evidence-backed certification available for our industry, hoping to help drive Singapore F&B into a brighter, more responsible future.”
WHAT IS THE FOOD MADE GOOD STANDARD?
Developed by The Sustainable Restaurant Association, the Food Made Good Standard is the only global sustainability certification that has been designed especially for the hospitality industry. Robust and evidence-driven, the Standard takes a comprehensive, holistic approach to what sustainability should mean for this influential industry, based on detailed criteria across its three pillars of Sourcing, Society and Environment. The Standard measures progress, encourages a culture of continuous improvement and rewards excellence, and is a core part of how we work to achieve our mission of driving positive change through the F&B sector worldwide.
Where IS THE FOOD MADE GOOD STANDARD AVAILABLE?
In summer 2023, a new version of the Food Made Good Standard was launched, with a new more user-friendly platform and a brand new website. As we redeveloped the the question set that restaurants must complete for their evaluation and the supporting evidence required, we called on a range of experts to contribute. Not only is the Standard now more rigorous and comprehensive, but it's also globally accessible and relevant for F&B businesses anywhere in the world. The Food Made Good Standard now has a presence in almost 30 countries, with our network including restaurants, hotels, cafés, bars, catering companies and universities. You can read more here about how the Food Made Good Standard continues to drive change across the globe.
