Sustainable Restaurant Association Japan Announces the Winners of the Third Annual FOOD MADE GOOD Japan Awards 2023!
Sustainable Restaurant Association Japan (hereinafter referred to as “SRAJapan”; Executive Director: Takeshi Shimotaya) held its third annual “FOOD MADE GOOD Japan Awards 2023” awards ceremony on Monday, November 20, 2023, at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, Tokyo, Japan.
The “FOOD MADE GOOD Japan Awards 2023” is an event that recognises SRAJapan member restaurants that have achieved high scores in accordance with the “FOOD MADE GOOD Standard,” an assessment index of global standards in the restaurant and hospitality industry created by The Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) in the UK. The grand prize, category award (BEST Sourcing, BEST Society and BEST Environment), and special award (BEST Recycle and BEST Fairtrade) winners were selected by a panel of experts in each sustainability field.
The purposes of the awards are to celebrate SRAJapan member restaurants for their commitment to sustainability through their innovation and efforts, recognise restaurants for their outstanding leadership and initiatives, and provide an opportunity to build relationships with fellow members to facilitate continuous improvement into the future.

The dishes and drinks served at the ceremony were all carefully prepared with ingredients provided by the corporate sponsors. The exquisite and delicious dishes were prepared by Toshinori Sogabe, Executive Chef of The Capitol Hotel Tokyu under the theme of ‘Sustainability’. Additionally, the menu was designed to highlight which of the 10 categories included in the three pillars of the Food Made Good Standard — Sourcing, Society and Environment — were incorporated into the menu so that participants and guests could easily identify the sustainable points at a glance.
