How You Can Help Make Renewable Energy Solutions More Accessible
We’re delighted to announce a new collaboration with Integrate to Zero, working together on a new project designed to make renewable energy solutions (such as on-site solar panels; electrified cooling, heating and cooking; smart meters; EV charging) more accessible to foodservice businesses. Integrate to Zero is a global philanthropic initiative that provides insights, supports deployment and advocates for scaling consumer-generated energy systems, encouraging integration to happen quickly.
What are the barriers to renewable energy solutions?
As part of this project, we have created a survey to gauge current understanding of renewable energy systems that are available for restaurants, and (crucially) the barriers that are currently preventing and/or discouraging foodservice businesses from implementing these systems.
The research from this survey will be combined with the findings from a dedicated working group in October, showing us where the industry needs the most guidance and support.
We’ll then use these data to inform the creation of a practical toolkit that will help restaurants implement renewable energy systems, building a more resilient industry that is better equipped to navigate the increasingly volatile energy landscape. Along the way, we also hope to find a restaurant who’d like to take part in a pilot and receive a proposal for which system(s) they could adopt and how much this would cost/save.
Restaurants: we need your help!
If you’re a hospitality operator, we’d love your input – the more restaurants that take part in the survey, the more information we’ll have about the challenges your business is facing when it comes to renewable energy. This will allow us to create the most useful and relevant toolkit possible, helping to bring more sustainable energy sources to the hospitality industry as a whole. As a ‘thank you’ for completing the survey, you’ll receive a copy of the completed toolkit.
