WHAT’S THE BENEFIT OF TAKING THE fOOD mADE GOOD 50?
The Food Made Good 50 is a new way of tracking and managing the progress that foodservice businesses can make towards their sustainability goals. The tool features 50 truly impactful initiatives, mapped across the SRA’s Framework; some big, some small. Taking the survey will provide a snapshot of the current status of achievements, and help prioritise what to focus on. It is an active tool and we encourage regular updates to the data. The Food Made Good 50 will work alongside SRA members’ Sustainability Ratings, and will contribute to the collective impact strategy for a better food system, globally.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
It tends to take members no more than 15 minutes to complete the Food Made Good 50. It may take longer if you need to check with colleagues about certain operational details – why not get your green team or sustainability stakeholders together and tackle it side by side!
DO I NEED TO CONTACT MY SUPPLIERS TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS?
We always encourage our foodservice members to build better relationships with their suppliers. The Food Made Good 50 makes a great tool for open conversations about getting good food on people’s plates. If you encounter a detail that you’d like to check with a supplier, please see below.
WHAT IF I’M NOT SURE WHAT THE ANSWER IS?
If you’re not sure about an answer, you can leave it to return to at a later date. It is not mandatory to answer every question, so we recommend submitting as much information as possible, and filling in any remaining details later.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once completed you will receive a Food Made Good 50 summary report which outlines what you’ve ‘Done’ (things to celebrate), what’s on your ‘To-do’ list (your key focus areas for your sustainability agenda) and what you believe your business ‘Can’t do’ (due to your business type, brand or other barriers). Circulate the To-do list within the business to help you stay on track and ensure sustainability is prioritised!
HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO THE SUSTAINABILITY RATING?
We encourage all SRA foodservice members to maintain a valid Sustainability Rating. We know that many members want to maximise the use of our Framework and Community before they complete the Rating, which means that we are missing an opportunity to help hospitality benchmark where an average business will begin its journey towards operating more sustainably. It also means that we can offer practical guidance that is tailored towards each business’s agenda. The Food Made Good 50 will work alongside the Sustainability Rating and will contribute to our collective impact strategy for a better food system, globally.
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE DATA?
Part of our focus is on helping diners make conscious choices, and promoting peer-to-peer inspiration. We will highlight the things that our members have ‘Done’ on our website directory, alongside their Star Rating and participation in other initiatives. Member profiles will be updated in-line with their progression.
