The University of Edinburgh is a regular supporter of charities and commits to teaching school children about sustainability and cooking schools. It has installed various pieces of energy efficient kit in its kitchens and low energy lighting in all sites making sure its impact on the environment is managed. All eggs are free-range, the seafood is from British waters, which is carefully selected to ensure its sustainability and the chocolate, tea and coffee are produced to a standard that incorporates fair trade criteria.
Founded in 1582, The University of Edinburgh is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's ancient universities. The University is deeply embedded in the fabric of the city of Edinburgh, with many of the buildings in the historic Old Town belonging to the university.
With a diverse catering service operating coffee shops, catered halls to fine dining we are passionate about food and believe that eating is one of life's greatest pleasures. As a key employer and contributor to Scotland's economy we embrace the opportunity to source our foods where possible within Scotland and in turn support the valuable Scottish Food and Drink Industry.
