Pensons is based on the border of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire on the Netherwood Estate. We are inspired everyday by the beautiful countryside that surrounds our restaurant and committed to showcasing the very best of local, sustainable ingredients, grown or foraged in our kitchen garden and farm or, whenever possible, sourced from nearby high-quality suppliers.
This local ethos as extended to the decor of the restaurant which has been furnished with historic items from the Estate or pieces commissioned from local artisans and craftsmen. So, all the fabrics and napkins were woven in the cloth mill in our farmyard, the lampshades were woven by a basketmaker using willow from the nearby woods and the steak knives were forged by the neighbouring blacksmith with wooden handles from a fallen walnut tree on the farm.
We are working to touch the world lightly where we can. We compost all our green waste which in turn goes back onto the land, we recycle what we can and are negotiating with our suppliers to reduce the packaging they send us.
It is early days for us and we still have lots to learn and put into practice, but it is a start...
