Just Hospitality

Description

Just Hospitality has been a member of the SRA since 2014. Since before this time, sustainability has played an important role in all aspects of our business and is one of the reasons we have featured in the ‘Top 30 Best Places to work in Hospitality’ for the last 4 years running. We are heavily involved in the local community and have close links with two schools in particular: Highshore (4 years) and Samuel Rhodes (1 year). Through these schools we offer work placements to students with complex mixed needs. We are a family business and sustainability runs through each one of our 5 core values: 1. We love food that makes us feel good, 2. We ingrain quality in everything we do, 3. We hunt for new ideas, 4. We build partnerships based on trust, 5. We respect people and planet. By constantly re-engaging with these core values we try to make a positive impact in every facet of our business, seeking new ways to improve our sustainability practices and credentials.

sustainability goals 2018

Building upon our achievements to date our particular goals for this year include: 1. Increasing our local sourcing. We already favour British produce above all else and our menus celebrate local and seasonal produce but this year we are aiming to quantify that by sourcing over 25% of our food from within 100 miles of our production units. 2. Providing formalised sustainability training for all employees. 3. Engaging the local community further by going into schools to teach cooking and how to make healthy food choices.
